For Christmas Andy got me this little mini-bonsai kit, because I developed a small obsession with the thought of having a bonsai garden.  I’ve been scared to plant the seeds, because I don’t exactly have a green thumb.  It’s not black either, though.  So maybe it’s a sickly yellow thumb.  Anyway, I decided that maybe, just maybe, I’d be able to keep it alive.  And so we come to the great bonsai adventure of 2009.

First we have to soak the seeds…

So that is what we’re doing in this picture. These jack pine seeds will soak for twenty-four hours.  After that I’ll show you the next step.
